“Altamura continues to impress me, not only for their Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, but also for one of the finest California Sangioveses money can buy.”
Appearing regularly in trade magazines such as “Wine Spectator”, “Wine Enthusiast”, “Wine & Spirits” and “Connoisseurs Guide”, the winery has also been featured in lifestyle articles in the “Los Angeles Times” and “Private Clubs”, and was recently highlighted on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” with Jerald O’Kennard of the Beverage Testing Institute. Altamura wines garner consistently high critical ratings with an average “Wine Spectator” score of over 91 points for the last 10 vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2007 Cabernet is on fire——named #5 in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list for 2010, “Highly Recommended” in the magazine and given 96 points, our highest score to date.
Robert Parker has looked at the latest wines as well. And again he, he liked what he tasted. The 2007 Cabernet received 95 points and is “probably the best Cabernet ever tasted from Altamura”. Wow!! The 2007 Sangiovese (94 points) and 2008 Sauvignon Blanc (91 points) were also a hit. Full reviews for all three wines are below.
